Company Overview

In 1942, LeRoy William Kammerer began a small welding repair shop out of his garage in the heart of Kendallville. Small repairs, welding farm equipment and steel sales comprised L.W. Kammerer & Son's business in the beginning. In 1963, a bold move to the country gave the business it's much needed space for growth. LeRoy's purchase of just under 20 acres gave the business enough space for a modest building and area to repair the much larger farm equipment of the ever changing farm implements.

In 1978, the company, under the direction and leadership of LeRoy's son Sherril W. Kammerer, changed the name of the business to Kammerer Welding. In addition, as an additional edge on the competition they erected a much larger building, at 2400 sq. ft. not only to accommodate the ever growing farm equipment, but to move into a new phase of the business plan to include fabrication.

In the 1980's & 1990's there were many fabrication, welding, and repair shops in the area. However, as the economy changed, many either went out of business or sold off their operations. With fewer competitors in the marketplace, Kammerer Welding decided to go large. The incorporated changing the name to Kammerer Inc. By 1998, both of Sherril's sons, Kelly & Klint Kammerer were stepping into the leadership roles as the 3rd generation of Kammerer's prepared to lead the business in a new direction. Just after 2006, they added a full time salesman, Kevin Bortner, and doubled in size. In 2008, the physical facility of Kammerer Inc. changed to accommodate an unprecedented growth to 30,000 sq. ft. and is still bulging at the seams. In 2009, Kammerer Inc. gained the certification of ISO 9001: 2008. Even with the economic downturn of recent years Kammerer Inc. has weathered the storms and is continuing to strengthen its position in the marketplace. Better than half a century's experience has enforced our beliefs that customer satisfaction, quality, and competitive pricing have been the cornerstones of our success.

A look towards the future shows Kammerer Inc. focused on our current customers and satisfying their needs. While continuing our quest to break into new markets, we welcome the opportunity to continue to cultivate our supplier- customer relationships of the future. With our physical size, our workforce of 50+ employees, our ISO certification, our determination for solutions, our attitude that nothing, nothing is impossible, and the leadership of our 3rd generation of Kammerer's we feel no task is too large and we welcome any challenge.
